Amber Eyes [Barney & Miles]

Amber Eyes [Barney & Miles]

The cat is on the window sill,
Still for a moment,
Except for the end of his tail.

He scans the scene outside with amber eyes.
The skies are blue, too.

The breeze makes the
Leaves in the trees weave and spin,
And some begin to drift swiftly
To the ground below.
Their descent seems slow to me,
Though not to the cat.

He looks, again, for friend and foe,
But doesn’t know the difference.
Smart cat, he!
Sees only unity.
And me.
